About
Aside from being President of VeriCon, Wayne Barrow brings an unparalleled perspective to firestopping and passive fire protection. His most unique perspective comes from being a fire survivor. In addition to having experienced the life safety dangers, he also knows the financial cost associated with the property loss and recovery along with the emotional toll of a fire and its aftermath.
To date Wayne has personally provided Special Inspection and Quality Assurance services on over 100 projects that total more than $6 billion dollars’ worth of new construction and 10 million square feet of existing construction. Prior to founding VeriCon he started and ran a Firestop Contracting Division for an integrated trade services company in New England. His initial work in firestopping came during his time as a Field Specialist for a world leader in firestop technology.
A skilled presenter and instructor, Wayne has provided training to more than 6000 Building Inspectors, Facilities personnel, General Contractors, Architects, Engineers, and Sub-contractors. He has written three manuals on firestopping along with numerous white papers and articles.
Married and the proud father of two daughters, he lives with his wife in New Hampshire.
